April 6-8 gave us a great chance to reflect on and return to the wonder of what Jesus did through his death and resurrection!
On Good Friday, we were blessed to be able to participate in Stations:2012, a reflective journey to the cross put together by the Christian Perspectives 11 class at Cedars Christian School. They had set-up stations representing the 14 stations of the cross which invited individuals and families to think about and respond to Jesus' journey through suffering to the cross. It was a great way to enter into the weekend with a greater identification with the suffering of Jesus and hope for his resurrection!
Saturday night, we opened up the church for the Jesus Film, a documentary account of the life of Jesus taken from the book of Luke. Several people came out to reflect on the life of Jesus and the significance of his sacrifice on our behalf.
Sunday morning, we came to the Empty Tomb, and took some time to step back to the wonder the initial witnesses of the empty tomb would have felt, and the questions they would have had as they wondered what had become of Jesus. During the service, we were very blessed to have a kids' choir as part of the worship team - it was great to worship the risen Jesus together with joy!!
Coming out of Easter, we look forward to continuing our journey as we look at the lives of those who were changed by an encounter with the risen Jesus! We hope you can join us as we too encounter Jesus!
